The Notebook (New Line Cinema 2004)
Thanks to ASM826 at Random Acts of Patriotism for the suggestion...
I'm no expert on relationships. No really...I'm not. But I do know when a man and woman deeply love each other it is very special.
After watching The Notebook the values of love and devotion are apparent. Now I know what all you GUYS are thinking. Aw man! A chick-flick? Really Edge?
And my answer would be yes! This is a chick flick. This could be the mother of all chick flicks, but I truly believe both men and women will enjoy this story, and it will beg the question...
Just how far are you willing to go for your spouse?
Here is the review from IMDb...
The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fiancé and her first love.
Being true to your only love makes The Notebook the Edge Conservative Movie of the Week!

;-)
I saw that, not sure I could talk hubby into watching it even though he is just as sweet as the hubby in the movie.
Debbie Hamilton
Right Truth
Borepatch,
Glad she enjoyed it!
Debbie,
Just tell him James Garner is in it. If there ever was a man's man it would be James Garner.
great to see ya dude..and chick flick?..Yesssssssssssssss!..lmbo :)
Angel,
I knew all the chicks would like it!
:O)
looks good, thanks Edge.
I read the book, might have to NetFlix this one.
I dont' usually like chick flicks.
But I loved this one -- and so did Mr. AOW.
Z,
I didn't read the book. Not much of a reader I guess!
AOW,
I guess I'm easy to please...chick flicks, war movies...whatever. Just not big into horror movies!
I'm going to have to see it!
Watch it with hubby Brooke. I'm sure the two of you will like it!
This is a great movie! One I think you should watch that just came out on DVD is Taken with Liam Neeson. He actually tortures the suspects to get info about his daughter and hits first and asks questions later. Its definitely a conservative flick!! :)N
Nikki,
Already got that one down! You're right! Good flick!

Oh Edge. This one makes my heart hurt...SO MUCH. I like the first part of it more than the second part. But it's a lovely movie.
The two main actors are two of my favs!!
Pinky,
I think everyone has seen this movie...and liked it!
Hope you are well!
