"They came in peace."

Folks, you need to plan a special trip to see the Beirut Memorial in Jacksonville, North Carolina (near Camp Lejeune) this fall.

The memorial honors the 220 Marines and 21 servicemen killed when their barracks in Beirut were destroyed by a suicide bomber driving a truck full of explosives. It has been estimated the vehicle was carrying enough power equal to 12,000 pounds of TNT.

Thursday October 23rd will mark the 25th anniversary of that horrible day.
I will be very interested to see how (or if) our media remembers.
