The memorial honors the 220 Marines and 21 servicemen killed when their barracks in Beirut were destroyed by a suicide bomber driving a truck full of explosives. It has been estimated the vehicle was carrying enough power equal to 12,000 pounds of TNT.
Thursday October 23rd will mark the 25th anniversary of that horrible day.
I will be very interested to see how (or if) our media remembers.
Question: What have we learned about radical Islam in the last 25 years?
Question #2. Think that Marine at the end of the video is voting for Obama?

Nanc,
You got that right.
I haven't heard a peep, Edge.
We've learned a lot of pure crap, starting with, "Islam is a religion of peace."
Unfortunately we have a group in Congress and one Presidential candidate who still believe that all we need to do with these "poor misunderstood folks" is to sit down and have tea and crumpets with them and discuss how to "share the wealth" with them and somehow they will no longer hate us.
As for me I'll go with Winston Churchill rather than Neville Chamberlain. Churchill had this to say: • You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
We've learned that we have an enemy within, and radical Islam is poised to force us to decide whether we will stand against them as a nation, or allow them to use our freedoms to destroy us.
Thanks for reminding us of this important date, Edge. I would love to visit the memorial some day.
Brooke,
Nor I! I guess it's up to bloggers to get r done!
Subvet,
This Bud's for you!
Pinky,
Amen! It's not as spectacular as some in D.C., but it's just as important imo.
I'll remember them Edge. Thanks.
