The Longest Day (FOX 1962)

Let's play a game this week.

Ask people what this Sunday is.

I can bet that half of the people you ask will have no idea.

Here is the movie review of The Longest Day from IMDb...

The retelling of June 6, 1944, from the perspectives of the Germans, the US, Britain, and the Free French. Marshall Erwin Rommel, touring the defenses being established as part of the Reich's Atlantic Wall, notes to his officers that when the Allied invasion comes they must be stopped on the beach. "For the Allies as well as the Germans, it will be the longest day. The longest day."

I wish I could have found a trailer on the web that didn't totally suck, but I did find this clip...

The Christmas Truce

Sorry, I've been away from you my fellow bloggers. I've been doing some travelling and of course finally ended up at Ma' and Pa' Edge's house to celebrate the BIG DAY!

I truly hope this Christmas will be a special one for you and that you all have a happy and wonderful New Year! Though we've never met personally, I consider you all my friends!

I came across this story the other day and I thought I would add it to ECM! If you've never heard of this, it's a wonderful story! If you have heard of it, it's a great reminder of the power of this very special day!

God bless you all, and I promise to be back as soon as I can! Now, I have to go help Ma' Edge with the turkey...and now...

Henry V (MGM 1989)

My boss introduced me to this movie and said I would enjoy it...and I did! If you enjoy Shakespeare and love a good war flick, Henry V is going to be one you'll remember for a long time.

I have to admit most of the dialogue was way over my head, but the overall story is what was most important to me. A young King, looked upon as a playboy by his enemies, is denied land that he's entitled. What his enemies didn't expect was that the King and his small army would fight for it. But victory is not easy and the King learns what it takes to lead not only his troops, but to lead his country.

A pro-militaty, pro-victory, pro-country film, Henry V is the Edge Conservative Movie of the Week!

Here is the trailer...
