Swiss Family Robinson (Walt Disney 1960)

Well...the url www.conservativeflix.com is no more. I have gone back to my original blog address conservativemovies.blogspot.com and changed the title of my blog back to Edge's Conservative Movies.

Why? There comes a time in every bloggers life that he or she must...really remember to repurchase their custom URL. I didn't so...there ya' go.

Not exactly sure what happened to My Movie Music. Over half of them got deleted over the weekend. So if there was a particular piece you liked to listen to and it isn't there...it was one of the 34 that's gone.

Anyway...onto the movies!

I have another survival movie for you and for the fam! Disney's adventure classic Swiss Family Robinson is a great story of survival, leadership, courage, invention...pretty much everything that makes America (or the Swiss I guess) great!

Here is the synopsis from IMDb...

A family in route to New Guinea is shipwrecked on a deserted tropical island. They are forced to remain on the island because of the damage to the ship and the pirates that are roaming the islands. They create a home on the island (centering around a huge tree house) and explore the island and it's wildlife. Plenty of adventure ensues as the family deals with issues of survival, pirates, and the brothers must learn how to live on the island with an uncertain future.

What a great film. Have you seen it, or have you just seen bits and pieces of it on TV? There's a difference you know! Great conservative flickr here folks! One man leads a rag tag bunch against the most ruthless government the world has ever seen! And to think Kirk Douglas was a super lib too! Oh well, as I have stated before on this blog, some of the biggest libs made some of the most right wing flicks! This is why you should thank yours truly for showing you the way...hee...hee.

The Alamo has to rank right up there with all of the great American stories of guts and sacrifice; Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Iwo Jima, D-Day, Flight United 93 and countless others. These are the kind of stories that we should pass on to the young ones to help them understand that their freedom was paid for by the courage and blood of others. I am proud to say that John Wayne's 1960 epic The Alamo is Edge's Conservative Movie of the Week! If you have not seen it...SEE IT! It is long, but worth every second!

I just wonder what all those guys would think about our border situation today. Keep that in mind when you watch this film, huh?

And as they say down in the great state of Texas...REMEMBER THE ALAMO!

To be able to stop them, General Sam Huston needs time to get his main force into shape. Travis' small troop is swelled by groups accompanying Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett, but as the situation becomes ever more desperate Travis makes it clear there will be no shame if they leave while they can.

The struggle for a people to return to their home, and the rebirth of a great nation; Exodus starring Paul Newman and Eva Marie-Saint delivers with drama, action, and suspense and is Edge's Conservative Movie of the Week! Here is a movie review from IMDb!

The theme is the founding of the state of Israel. The action begins on a ship filled with Jewish immigrants bound for Israel who are being off loaded on Cyprus. An Intelligence officer succeeds in getting them back on board their ship only to have the harbor blocked by the British with whom they must negotiate. The second part of the film is about the situation in Israel as independence is declared and most of their neighbors attack them.
